Abstract
The most evident correlations of the gravity field with geological activity appear to be:
1) positive anomalies over all the Circuni-Pacific thench and island are belts, as well as other areas of recent extrusions;
2) very small anomalies over ocean rises of relatively rapid spread-ing rate and over areas quiescent in recent geologic time; and
3)negative anomalies over purely folding & compression mountain belts and over areas of recent glaciation.
