Vulcanismo cuaternario, bloques continentales y tectónica de placas en México
Main Article Content
Abstract
A morphotectonic analysis of some regions of Mexico suggests a possible relationship between basaltic volcanism, upper mantle behavior, and the possible existence of continental blocks of crustal dimensions which seem to form the Southern abutment of the North American Plate. The analysis was begun in the Gulf of California region, starting with the oceanic floor. Certain submarine physiographic features are related to continental features inferred from regional mapping of the State of Sinaloa.
