Isotopic composition and concentration of inert gases in mexican hydrothermal systems (Genetic and applied aspects)

Resumen

En este trabajo se estudian la composición isotópica y la concentración de gases inertes en muestras de fluidos hidrotérmicos de ocho áreas de descarga en la Republica Mexicana. Se ha encontrado que Xe, Dr y una gran proporción de Ar y Ne son de composición isotópica atmósferica. Una pequeña fracción de Ar es de origen radiogénico. Todos los sistemas hidrotérmicos mexicanos bajo estudio contienen helio del manto (de 4 a 44% del helio total). Los valores de la razón 3He/4He varían a lo largo y a través del Eje Volcánico Transmexicano, y son congruentes con el patrón geoestructural así como también con las características petroquímicas de los productos volcánicos del Plioceno tardio - Cuaternario. La porción máxima del helio del manto es característica de los sistemas hidrotérmicos mas calientes (Los Azufres y Cerro Prieto} y de los alrededores de la caldera de Los Humeros (manantialesde Quateloluco). Se observa un contenido anormalmente alto de Ne en las mismas áreas. Teniendo en mente las peculiaridades análogas de otros importantes sistemas hidrotérmicos del mundo, estas evidencias sugieren un alto potencial geotérmico para esas áreas.
