Abstract

This book, one of whose authors is probably the best known author of specialized books on geophysics in the Spanish language, can be characterized with a single word: complete. At a level well suited for use as a text in undergraduate or first graduate courses, it introduces all the basic topics of solid-earth geophysics. Especially interesting is the historical introduction that he makes of each topic, since it allows to place the topics treated within the context of current geophysics and to appreciate the interrelation between the different branches of this science.
