Some aspects of climate fluctuations in Mexico in relation to drought
Main Article Content
Abstract
Long term fluctuations in rainfall in Mexico, during the last 100 years are described in terms of the circulation patterns aloft. The metod of anomalies in these patterns is used to account for changes in the trajectories of tropical cyclons, which accompany the changes of the overall atmospheric circulation leading to a drought situation in Mexico. Rainfall trends in this country are thus related to the observed changes in the intensity of the upper westerlies at middle latitudes.
