The role that trace substances play in the radiant energy balance of the atmosphere.

Abstract

Trace substances in the atmosphere absorb radiation in the solar and terrestrial wavelength range. In consequence there will be radiant flux divergences changing the vertical temperature profile. This paper presents a comparison of the efficiency of the different absorbers H₂O vapour  (H₂ O)₂, CO₂,O₃ and aerosol particles.
