Abstract
This number includes two new publications on the issue that was first introduced in the January 2024 volume as a contribution to improve the preparation and management of the risks of future monogenetic eruptions, as well as the preservation of the associated natural and cultural heritage. The first paper of this volume addresses the origin of the recent seismic swarms that have occurred in the Parícutin-Tancítaro area in Michoacán (Mexico) and have caused significant concern to the local population. This study supports a magmatic origin for this phenomenon, and relates it to the stalling of magma within the crust. The results of this paper have great relevance for the study of the precursors of new monogenetic eruptions and related magmatic processes.
