Asymmetric convection in the upper mantle
Main Article Content
Abstract
The New Global Tectonics admits convection in the upper mande as one of the possible driving forces. An experimental model which permits the study of convection in a fluid with internal homogeneous heat generation has been constructed. The development of asymmetric convection patterns suggests some in-teresting geophysical interpretations.
