Principales cationes solubles en agua y fraccionamiento iónico del aerosol atmosférico marino

Resumen
De enero a marzo y de mayo a julio de 1979 se recolectaron muestras de aerosol atmosférico a bordo del B/0 "Mariano Matamoros" en el Noreste del Océano Pacífico Ecuatorial (7° N, 84°W). Se determinaron los principales cationes solubles en agua, potasio, calcio y magnesio, con el f'm de evaluar los enriquecimientos de estos elementos con respecto al sodio. Los resultados obtenidos muestran que las distribuciones de los cationes son representadas por curvas log-normales.Los factores de enriquecimiento promedio, obtenidos a partir de las razones de las concentraciones K:Na, Ca:Na, fueron mayores que el lOO% y para el Mg:Na no fue significativamente distinto de cero, siendo su única fuente de aportación las sales del mar. Usando la regresión de variable múltiple, se obtuvo que para el K y Ca existe contribución del aerosol de origen continental y del aerosol de fondo. En caso de existir fraccionamiento iónico éste es de poca influencia en el factor de enriquecimiento aquí detectado.
