Un filtro selectivo de velocidad variable para exploración sísmica de reflexión
Main Article Content
Abstract
Velocity filters are applied to seismic sections in order to eliminate noise having a tendency to mask arrivals associated to reflecting horizons of interest. We present a technique of velocity filtering based on a simple idea. We designed a Butterworth filter operating on frequeney, with a constant rejecting bandwidth, which is translated along a predetermined slope in the f-k plane (frequency-wave number domain). Fan filters use rectangular filters with variable rejecting bandwidth. Our velocity filter can be very selective depending on the rejecting bandwidth used and can be easily implemented in seismic processing package s which work in the f-k domain simulating seismic traces. The usefulness of this variable velocity filter is demonstrated with examples from a synthetic model and real data.
