Errores asociados al cálculo de corrientes geostróficas en la región ecuatorial
Main Article Content
Abstract
Hydrographic data from a meridional section in the equatorial zone are used to estimate geostrophic currents and their associatcd errors. The geopotential field is smoothed out using orthogonal polynomials. The first and second derivatives are calculated and used to cvaluate the geostrophic velocity. We get the known equatorial current system with an uncertainty of 40% or les.
