Abstract

This book by Dr. D. A. Valencio, from the Department of Geological Sciences of the University of Buenos Aires, is the first to be published on the subject, in Spanish. As its author states in the preface, the book was initially prepared for courses taught at the University of Buenos Aires itself, at the University of Sao Paulo, Brazil, and at the Institute of Geophysics, National Autonomous University of Mexico. However, the book is not just a textbook, but is aimed at a broader audience, including all scholars interested in topics such as tectonics, paleo-reconstructions, dating and correlation, archaeomagnetism, rock magnetism, and many others.
