Abstract

This year the Institute of Geophysics celebrated the fortieth anniversary of its foundation. Ricardo Monges López, from the position of Director of the Institute of Geology that he then held, was the promoter of its creation. His reasons were: the need to incorporate advanced techniques in the study of our resources natural.
