Abstract

Maps of climatological-average (normal) surface albedo are presented for both the Northern and Southern hemispheres and for the months January, April, July and October. These have been constructed using available information on the average albedo of various natural surfaces and using what is known about the different types of surface vegetation and ice and mow cover in all regions of the globe.
